Anne Hirsch graduated from Stellenbosch University with a degree in Drama. At 24 she completed her Master's degree from UCT with a focus on comedy, she has performed and co-written 3 successful one-woman shows. Anne went on to win SABC’s ‘So you think you’re funny’ season 2 crowning her the funniest new stand-up comedian in the country. She is part of Cape Town's longest-running show, Theatresports, an improvised acting troupe. She also performs with writer Marianne Thamm, actress Anthea Thompson and comedian Shimmy Isaacs in the hugely successful Cracks and the City comedy shows. In 2011 she acted opposite Stephen Fry in BBC1's Christmas Special movie, The Borrowers.
