Kaylee Mcilroy is a trained actor who graduated with a BA(Hons) in Theatre and Performance from UCT in 2020. Kaylee has a neutral South African accent. Kaylee’s voice featured in two audio plays in the Virtual National Arts Festival, Woolworths by Juliet Jenkins and Tower and the Tree by Patrick Kenny, which went on to win a Standard Bank Ovation Award. Kaylee has had opportunities to develop her standard American accent, featuring in films like Greytown Girl (Darryl Roodt). Coached by Susan Danford in a Chicago dialect for Wanted Dead or Alive (Paul Epstein). Kaylee is a Shakespearian Actor appearing as Ophelia in Hamlet and Desdemona in Othello (Think Theatre), in British RP. Kaylee can alternate age range and is an experienced storyteller, narrating children’s stories such as Peter Court’s Froggy Fairytale. Kaylee is a comedic actor with many years of on-stage experience in variety comedy shows like Family Business (Darren King). Kaylee has worked on Public Service Announcements for local government in KZN. Since graduating Kaylee has put her voice to work in a wide range of professional productions from Musical Theatre (Barnyard’s Thank You for The Music), Physical storytelling (Horn of Sorrow) and Children’s theatre (Adventure of Who, How to Train your Human) to name a few. |
