Nelisa Kala is an actress, voiceover artist and musician who found her niche behind the microphone in 2008 and went on to host radio shows at community and commercial stations in the Eastern Cape, Gauteng and KwaZulu Natal. As the voice of Absa Bank’s Interactive Voice Response line since 2018, Kala’s eloquent speech and personable, velvety vocal tone guides clients through their telephonic banking experience. Her voice is also a regular feature in numerous television, radio and online advertising content and previous clients include Unesco, the Food and Agricultural Organisation, Kia, Nedbank, Rand Merchant Bank, Nelson Mandela University, DSV Logistics and Weir Minerals, to name a few. Nelisa has performed both on-camera as the feature character in a commercial and on-stage in theatrical productions such as Duma Ndlovu’s The Game at the Nelson Mandela Bay Theatre Complex. Nelisa is a well- versed performer who has compered many events, such as the Women’s Empowerment Conference luncheons which she was selected to host at the Durban International Convention Centre. She was also on the regional judging panel for the Miss South Africa pageant for three consecutive years and has hosted roadshows, activations and launch events for malls and corporate brands across South Africa. |
