Siyamthanda Bangani was born and raised in Mbekweni, a township just outside Paarl, Cape Town. He started acting in his community and has been performing on professional theatre stages and cast in short films from the age of 12 years till date. He has been taking part in local drama festivals like the DCAS Drama Festival and the Zabalaza Theatre Festival where he got mentored and facilitated by professional actors and directors.
In 2020/2021 he was busy with two theatre productions which were the Finest of The Zabalaza Festival titled “Head(s) or Tail(s)” and “Ganga Nyoko! Inzima Nyoko!” playing the lead character - Ivakele Mkhumbuzi, and for it he was nominated alongside his co-star Sbuja Dywili, as the Best New Ensemble at the 57th Fleur Du Cap Theatre Awards. In 2021 he directed a documentary as part of his graduation at the Documentary Institutions of South Africa titled “My Poems, My Survival” which earned him an IMDb credit as a Film Director. In that same year he produced a feature length film which he starred in alongside Anele Matoti, titled “Life Happened” directed by Anele Geqiwe. It was on this project where he earned two more IMDb credits as an Actor and Film Producer. In 2022, he got awarded a scholarship by the Zabalaza Festival from Baxter Theatre to study towards a Higher Certificate in Acting for Film at ACT Cape Town. He got his voice over training from Mvelisi Mvandaba after undergoing an intense 4-week training with him.
