Tumelo Ruele

Tumelo Ruele was born in Sebokeng in the Vaal Triangle, South of Johannesburg. He ended his schooling at Selborne Primary and Riverside High respectively, where he found his passion for the arts. Participating in many school plays and musicals, his talent was honed, and saw him winning various awards for acting and public speaking. His passion for radio started when he joined TUKS FM at the University of Pretoria, where he studied BCOM Accounting Sciences. He later joined the Y-Academy, YFM's radio broadcasting internship programme, where he learned all the various aspects of radio including presenting, production, and doing voiceovers.

Tumelo went on to host various shows including doing stand-ins for some of the sta on's biggest shows. He was later appointed Senior Producer on Engineer at the station, working with various voices and clients to conceptualize, produce and execute groundbreaking radio campaigns. Tumelo currently works as a Senior Producer on Engineer at Primedia Broadcasting and has vast experience in directing voiceovers, lending his own voice for some of the station's campaigns and radio spots. Tumelo is also an established singer and songwriter, having been nominated at South African Music Awards for best dance album. It is his versatility that enables him to deliver a huge range of voice-over work, including different styles and being fluent in English, Sesotho, and Setswana.
