Matthew has been involved in the creative arts from many different angles in his professional career, giving him a unique 360 degree understanding of the inner workings of creative projects.
A VO Artist, DJ, musician, performer, radio producer, engineer and comedy enthusiast – He know a lot about the entertainment industry from many different angles.
Having spent years on the road with live music, comedy and radio acts – he sharpened his voice talents while producing the Phat Joe Morning show on Heart FM which went on to win 2 MTN awards for that year (2011). He created characters such as Frikkie Malherbe who interviewed celebrities with his blunt rural mannerisms and the voices behind inserts like Fact or Bullcrap (modelled after cheesy 60s gameshows). The show gave him freedom to explore the limits of parody song production and live production turn-arounds. He co-produced the show with comedian Mel Jones and found a great groove together as they carved out award winning bits around Julius Malema, the death of Nigel Pearce (when GHFM & Heart morning shows interacted with each other as they threw shade), The controversial segments around gang bosses turned rappers and much more.
Since then he has performed voiceovers for corporates, ad segments and event promotions. His sharp wit and all-round understanding of the industry makes him a true asset to have in the studio.
